Scribble & Ink
So I have decided to take a big, fat bowl of lemons and make it art deco. I LOVE art deco ! The era, the clothing, the music, the elegance of it. It is in vogue again but we are calling it "modern" - "geometric" - "artsy". The colors are rich and deep and make a small room shout with character and spice.
I am moving to a tiny home and the kitchen needs a face lift. The counters are medium blue. The wallpaper has seen better days. The appliances need to be replaced. While I could go right to a studio and pick out granite and chrome I am thinking I might just focus those funds on another area and just paint the cabinets and replace the wallpaper with a strong art deco theme that holds a hint of blue. Could be stunning ! STAY TUNED ........
"This woven cotton furnishing fabric was designed by Harry Napper in about 1902. Napper worked for the Silver Studio design firm from 1893, and left in 1898 to work on a freelance basis. He produced a range of successful stylised floral patterns, which clearly showed the influence of European Art Nouveau design. This example is very typical, and uses a fashionable poppy motif. It was sold at the London department store Liberty & Co, which retailed many fabrics designed by Napper and the Silver Studio" description of this amazing fabric from Pinterest
