Windows.   They are an important element of our home and each individual room.  Air flow.  Natural light. Architecturally interesting or invisible.

Fall brings us to that time of the year when we want to circle the décor wagons and bring the feeling of warmth into our homes.  Autumnal colors surround us outdoors and the air is crisply cool.  Windows that were flung open all summer are now closed and the rooms take on a more shut-in feeling.  We notice the windows because we are looking less past them to the outdoors.  Darkness arrives much sooner so our visual reference pulls forward and back into the room itself.

I tend to like a cleaner, simpler window treatment; something that blends seamlessly with the wall space and doesn't shout its presence.  BUT there is also the option to GO BIG OR GO HOME !

If your walls are soft gray and the fabrics/artwork have an interesting color theme why not bring that into the windows?  Trim can go from soft gray to plum or pumpkin!  Don't cover the windows, let them join the party !  If painting the trim seems daunting try starting with the pane trim.

Drapery, shutters, Roman shades, bamboo shades, or sheers.  There are so many choices for the windows.  Let's look AT the windows and not just THROUGH them this time of the year.

Give me a call and let's go window shopping !
